Mobile social media networks: in 2015, they’re everywhere and becoming more deeply ingrained into our lives with every passing day. Think of the number of times you’ve yelled at someone to get off their phone while driving or accidentally bumped into someone while looking at your Facebook while walking down the street. (Or maybe it’s just me who does that.) For better or worse, they’re a big deal.
As a business owner, these mobile social media networks are the key to harnessing the power of your customers’ smartphones and earning their business.
And this goes double for nightclub and bar owners, especially as we approach the end-of-the-year holidays. Halloween, for example, is a perfect occasion to get your customers involved with your brand on Instagram. If you’re hosting a Halloween party, encourage your attendees to take pictures of themselves in costume using a relevant hashtag and tag your business in the photo. Pick the best costume and give that person a prize. It’s a simple way to keep people engaged and have a little fun in the process.
Hashtags are very powerful tools for these types of events. If you have a lot of people attending an event (ticket sales are an easy way to track this), get them to use Twitter to livetweet their experience at your party. This spreads brand awareness and is another way to get customers and employees involved.
Apps like Periscope and Meerkat allow you to livestream events straight from your business’s Twitter account, opening up an even more engaging way of reaching customers. Get reaction shots from customers as your employees move about the crowd or train your camera on the live band you booked for the night.
These are only a few examples. Mobile social media networks have opened up many new possibilities for fan and customer engagement, and it isn’t just for the big #brands out there. Leverage these mobile social media networks and watch your customer loyalty soar.
